Wind power
SETWind helps with transnational applications for funding for offshore wind power
Expert team provides advice and financial support right from the concept phase. This facilitates cross-border research from the very beginning.
Applications for cross-border research activities can be time-consuming. Formalities can be completed much more efficiently with the right partners at your side. This is why the European SETWind project team advises research institutes, universities and industrial companies already during the preparation of the funding outline. This only has to satisfy two conditions: Firstly, it must be a joint project with a partner from another European country. Secondly, the envisaged project must pursue at least one of the objectives of the SET Implementation Plan for offshore wind power in the European Union. Projects from nine different subject areas can be implemented. This includes for instance projects that focus on system integration or floating offshore wind turbines.
Up to 9,000 euros financial contribution as expense allowance
The following process applies to interested parties: First of all, the project idea is presented to the SETWind coordinators. In a second step, the funding outline is then drawn up. The internationally staffed SETWind expert team supports the project partners in an advisory capacity during this process. It helps with communication with the funding agencies and also supports potential applicants financially with a grant of up to 9,000 euros per partner country.
National funding agencies decide
The completed project suggestions are then submitted to the funding agencies of the respective countries. In Germany this is done within the framework of the 7th Energy Research Programme at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) or Project Management Jülich (PtJ), which processes the applications on behalf of the ministry. There the outlines go through the usual selection process.
